Q: What information do I need to obtain a copy of a hearing?

A: The name of the parties (style of the case), case number, division and date of the hearing.

Q: Can I get a copy of the recording on DVD?

A: No, records are not captured on DVD. Records are available on VHS tape, audio CD or digital CD and are copied in the format in which they were originally recorded. Digital CDs require a computer for playback.

Q: How long are the recordings of hearings maintained?

A: Records for Circuit Court and Family Court are generally available back to the mid-1980s. District Court records are maintained for five years.

Q: Can I get a written transcript of a court proceeding?

A: No, written transcripts are not available.
