Jonathan R. Spalding was appointed by Gov. Matt Bevin on April 16, 2019, to the Kentucky Court of Appeals District 3, Division 1, to replace the recently elected Supreme Court Justice Debra Hembree Lambert. He was sworn into office in Lebanon on April 24 by his brother, Judge Samuel Todd Spalding, who serves the 11th Judicial Circuit.
Judge Spalding comes to the court after 20 years in the private, general practice of law based out of Lebanon. Judge Spalding is a 1995 graduate of Campbellsville College and a 1998 graduate of the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.
Judge Spalding is a lifelong resident of Lebanon and the son of Brenda and Samuel Spalding. He is actively involved in local youth sports, including Little League Softball, and is a former head coach of the Marion County High School softball program.
