Chief Justice MintonFRANKFORT, Ky. -- 2015 has been a seminal year for the Judicial Branch, with the court system making significant inroads in launching new technology, enacting new legislation, adapting to trends in specialty courts and conducting the first judicial workload study in the history of Kentucky’s modern court system.

Chief Justice of Kentucky John D. Minton Jr. will give an update on these topics and much more when he presents the 2015 State of the Judiciary address before the General Assembly’s Interim Joint Committee on Judiciary. The address will take place Friday, Nov. 6, at 10 a.m. EST at Northern Kentucky University’s Votruba Student Union in Highland Heights.

The public and the media are invited to attend.

The chief justice is the administrative head of the state court system and is responsible for overseeing its operation. Chief Justice Minton was elected to serve the 2nd Supreme Court District in 2006 and was re-elected in 2014. His fellow justices elected him to serve a four-year term as chief justice in 2008 and re-elected him for a second term as chief justice in 2012.
