More Information

The Supreme Court of Kentucky convened a Family Court Rules of Procedure and Practice Committee in 2013 to consider existing and proposed family law forms related to the Family Court Rules of Procedure and Practice. The committee was comprised of judges, circuit court clerks, deputy clerks and interested stakeholders, including the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, the Department of Juvenile Justice, the Department of Education and the Department of Public Advocacy.

Four subcommittees reviewed forms related to dissolution of marriage; dependency, neglect or abuse; status offenses; and domestic violence. The subcommittees also considered recommendations from judges, attorneys and state agencies that had been made since the Family Court Rules of Procedure and Practice were adopted.

The committee made recommendations for revisions to domestic violence forms, which are now being discussed between the Administrative Office of the Courts, the Kentucky State Police and other stakeholders. These forms will be available for review at a later date.
