The Butler County Judicial Center Project was authorized by the General Assembly in 2022. The maximum annual use allowance is $1.7 million.
The Project is currently in Phase C Design and is expected to be completed in 2028. The Leslie County Judicial Center will contain two-stories, house all court services for Butler County, including circuit and district court, the circuit court clerk's office and statewide programs.
The Project Development Board (PDB) meets at Butler County Courthouse the third Tuesday of the month. PDB members include Butler County Judge Executive Tim Flener, Chief Circuit Judge Tim Coleman, Chief District Judge Gregory Vincent, Circuit Court Clerk Melissa Cardwell, Kentucky Bar Association Representative Colton Givens and Citizen at Large Kevin Phelps. The PDB selected Sherman Carter Barnhart Architects to provide design services and Alliance Corporation to provide construction/construction management services for the Project. Compass Municipal is the Financial Advisor.
