Court Facilities

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Department of Court Facilities oversees capital construction and the operation and maintenance of court facilities statewide.​​

The Division of Real Property​ oversees the operation and maintenance of existing court facilities and procures private sector lease space when necessary.

The Division of Capital Construction (page coming soon) manages new construction and the renovation of judicial facilities.​

​The Warehouse Unit stores furniture and inventory to supply court facilities and assists with moving offices, surplus property and the contents of court facilities.​​​

Division of Court Security​​

The Division of Court Security​ conducts security assessments on court facilities, trains court security officers and sheriffs’ deputies who serve court facilities, maintains security devices in court facilities, and provides security services for the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, high-risk trials and the Administrative Office of the Courts.​

​​​​The Division of Court Security conducts security assessments on all facilities owned, leased and occupied by the Kentucky Court of Justice. The division also installs and maintains security devices in court facilities and provides security services for​ the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and the Administrative Office of the Courts.

Court security coordinators conduct trainings for court security officers and sheriffs’ deputies who provide security in court facilities statewide and serve as the liaison between courts and the local sheriff’s office. They also assist sheriffs’ offices in preparing for high-risk trials.
