Driver's Licensing: Effective April 26, 2021, Breathitt County residents will be able to obtain all in-person driver's license, REAL ID and ID services through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet at any of its Driver Licensing Regional Offices. The Breathitt County Office of Circuit Court Clerk will no longer offer driver's license services as of April 26, 2021, with one exception. The Office of Circuit Court Clerk will temporarily continue to process card renewal and replacement requests submitted remotely by standard-issue cardholders whose credential expires on or before June 30, 2021.
The Kentucky State Police will continue to provide all written and road testing. Appointments for testing must be scheduled online. Find testing locations, scheduling and more information here.
Requesting Older Court Records: The State Records Center stores court records 15-35 years old. Submit this records request form to email@example.com or call 502-564-3617. The case and locator numbers must be provided as these records cannot be searched only by name and/or SS#. You can request the case and locator numbers from the Office of Circuit Court Clerk in the county where the case was handled. The Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives stores court records 36+ years old. To request court records from the KDLA, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 502-564-1787.
