FRANKFORT, Ky., March 13, 2026 – With construction on the new Bath County Judicial Center nearing completion in downtown Owingsville, court operations will be suspended March 23-27 to move to the new facility. The judicial center will open to the public Monday, March 30.

The Bath County Courthouse Annex in which court business is now carried out will be closed. Court proceedings and other functions, including those of the circuit court clerk’s office, will stop for the week.   

Located at 65 Water St., the two-story, 20,420-square-foot judicial center will house all local court operations. The new facility doubles the amount of space for the courts and increases security. It was designed after the 19th century Bath County Courthouse in Owingsville, where the courts were housed before moving to the annex in 1982.

Once the judicial center opens, court schedules and phone numbers will remain the same as those at the annex. More information is available at https://kcoj.info/Bath.

A dedication ceremony for the judicial center will take place later this year.

Administrative Office of the Courts
The Administrative Office of the Courts is based in Frankfort and is the operations arm of the state court system (Kentucky Court of Justice). The AOC supports the activities of nearly 3,300 court system employees and 412 elected justices, judges and circuit court clerks. As the fiscal agent for the court system, the AOC executes the Judicial Branch budget.
